The Sin of Homosexuality

Cover of Marvel’s comic showing Northstar‘s marriage

May 22, 2012 | NY Daily News |Marvel Comics announced Tuesday that the “X-Men’s” openly gay member, Northstar, will propose to his boyfriend in “Astonishing X-Men #50”, which hits stores Wednesday. It’s the latest in a trend of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender-friendly storylines in the medium.

The pair will make it official in the next issue, in a same-sex wedding in Central Park that has a who’s who of super heroes on the guest list. Northstar, aka Jean-Paul Beaubier, already became one of the first openly gay super heroes in mainstream comics, having come out in a 1992 issue.

Ok, first President Obama announces his support of same-sex marriages, albeit more than likely for political reasons. Not long after the NAACP‘s controversial approval, Marvel comics has come forward and announced that they too will begin to incorporate more homosexual story lines.

This sudden acceptance of homosexuality in our society is really an egregious paradigm shift of moral thought and behaviors. The arguments that the liberal gay-friendly supporters and media outlets publicize are weak at best. It is something that we Christians should not sit idly by and accept as another fold in human history.

To say that someone is born gay doesn’t even make sense. For one to assume that is a correct statement, one would have to subscribe to the theory of evolution. Obviously a Creationist belief is out of the question, because if you believe that God created humans, then you know, and should’ believe how God views homosexuality. To accept the belief that homosexuality is a natural occurrence, infers the acceptance that a homosexuality gene is encoded into the DNA strand. To follow this thought, you would then assume that would mean that for some reason the process of evolution deemed it necessary for the same sex of the species to have a need to pro-create. Seeing as how the male of the species has no egg or means for carrying a child, this is illogical. It would make more sense that we would all be born transgender.

Furthermore, making homosexuality an acceptable social behaviour doesn’t mean that we have to be constantly barraged with it every day. We Christians who speak out aren’t engaging in hate-speak, or suffer from narrow-mindedness. We are being slowly saturated and desensitised by the media we consume. The sudden onslaught of homosexual thought and images is destroying families and lives. It is not an acceptable way of life, it is a fad that has gotten way too much attention.  We Christians have a personal duty to our Lord to be champions of truth and morality in a wickedly cursed world. To be clear Christians don’t hate people who are homosexual. On the contrary, we love them and all people. Everyone falls short of grace and is guilty of sin; No one is born perfect.  But we have a personal duty to our Lord and Savior to confront and deal with sin here on earth until Christ’s return, be it murder, theft, adultery, or homosexuality.

  2. The man said, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman,’ for she was taken out of man.” That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.
    Genesis 2:23, 24
