The contest was based on a combination of fan voting, and critical review from a large panel of song expert judges from the CCM Industry and Indiestry including former VP of publishing for WORD, Cindy Wilt Colville, Brad Matthias of BEMA MEDIA, Mark Giles of Hit Radio Promo, and many more.

Dave Pettigrew is an independent Christian recording artist from New Jersey.
